The japonica clam fetches a lower price in the market than the slug. It is distinguished by:

- Color: gray and beige.
- Siphons: they are joined up to the middle.
This clam is not native to Galicia, but its cultivation today is widespread in the Galician community, due to its rapid growth. It is ideal for preparing dishes such as noodles with clams, fabes with clams, and combining it with different types of fish…
Description
Suggestions for consumptionClams a la marinera, clam soup, stuffed clams, Fabada with clams.
We recommend placing them in a deep container with cold water and a little salt, so that they release the soil they may contain, since these shellfish feed by filtering the soil.
