The swordfish is the only member of the family Xiphiidae and belongs to the order Perciformes. It is characterized by its long “beak” and is an incredibly fast predator. In Spanish it is also called gladiador, emperador, espardarte and espadón.
The most common preparations are grilled, broiled, baked… Its meat is tasty if it is cooked rare, otherwise it may be too dry .
